Introduction
The Division always had the goal to restore order, continue the government and keep society together. But this is also a brutal and thankless task that faced the agents against brutal and merciless adversaries. But the most dangerous enemies of them all have always been the Division Agent that went rouge and took all their knowledge and technology and turned against the society they once swore to protect.
Situation
=> Attack
It is now eight months after the outbreak of Green Poison that brought down society and killed millions. The agents of Washington D.C. are called back to New York City, where it all started.
A biological attack has hit Lower Manhattan and it is your job to hunt down the man responsible. Aaron Keener, callsign “Vanguard”, he is an Agent from the First Wave. The First Wave was activated shortly after the initial outbreak and had the responsibility to restore order, but they were eventually abandoned and left to die in the Dark Zone. That is the moment where Keener lost faith and went rogue. He disappeared and gathered all the tools to engineer his own biological weapons.
Now eight months later, Keener has returned to New York and he has attacked The Division Headquarters and killed dozens of top Division Agents and countless innocent civilians. And it seems, he is just getting started. Keep in mind, Keener knows the city inside and out and he is as lethal and as cunning as they come.
Your Enemy
=> Aaron Keener
After disappearing in the first game, Keener has resurfaced, surrounded himself with other rogue Agents, and used them to unite New York’s violent factions under his own banner. Worse, he’s working to create a new bioweapon even more potent than the Green Poison that brought society crashing down.
Keener is not only looking for revenge, but he also seeks chaos, because he believes this is the only way humanity can thrive. And he is not alone. He recruited four other Rogue Agents that not only have the skill but also the determination to achieve that goal. These agents have worked their way up within factions ruling over Lower Manhattan. If we want to get to Keener, we need to go through them first.
Vivian Conley
=> Image
Vivian Conley is a former counter-terrorism intelligent agent and chemical engineer. Conley’s last known location was the Two Bridges sector of Lower Manhattan.
A hurricane-ravaged the cost a few months ago, so it’s a far cry from the thriving urban sector it once was.
Javier Kajika
=> Image
He is a master of stealth and infiltration. He was a black-ops hitman for the U.S. government. Since the collapse, his loyalty goes to whoever will feed his need for blood.
Our latest intel locates Kajika somewhere in the Battery Park area. This is the part of the city that’s taken over by swamp. The terrain is rough and scattered with giant sinkholes that used to be subway tunnels. Odds are, he knows that you are coming for him and he plans to use the dicey terrain to get the drop on you.
The Cleaners
=> Image
Both Conley and Kajika work with the Cleaners. A former New York City sanitation unit that believes only fire can stop the virus. Conley was recruited by the cleaners when she went rogue and thanks to her technical expertise, they’re deadlier than ever. The Cleaners are ruthless and their “Cleansing Fire” takes no prisoners.
James Dragov
=> Image
Dragov is a former police officer and a heavy weapons and defense specialist. His relentless fight for justice made him a legend on the force. Yes, his allegiance has changed.
Dragov took hold of the Financial District district and has been using it as the center of his Black-Market operation. The intel suggests, he is still there. But be careful, major flooding has transformed the entire district into a mudslide.
Theo Parnell
=> Image
Parnell is a drone engineer and skilled hacker. He’s managed to stay off the grid, so all we can say for sure is, he’s a true mater of decoys and deception. Keener’s arranged for the Rikers to protect him at an unknown location in the Civic Center area.
Rikers
=> Image
Dragov and Parnell have both been linked to the Rikers. Ex-Cons from Riker-Island prison. Regardless of who their enemies were in the past, they’ve agreed to band together. Their motto: “Power by Numbers” and just like Keener, they thrive in chaos.
Last Words
Before you arrive at the Base of Operations with Agent Alani Kelso, you should be warned: A lot has changed in New York. The days when Division Agents were seen as knights in shining armor are long gone. The people that you will meet are survivors. Ever since Keener and his rouge agents took over Lower Manhattan there’s been a distrust of Division agents amongst civilians.
Your Contacts
Agent Faye Lau has been the acting commander of The Division in New York City and is leading the hunt for Keener. Her methods are “unconventional”. But we’re in a race against the clock and Lau knows what it takes to get results quickly.
=> Image
Paul Rhodes You’ll also find Paul Rhodes, now the leader of the civilian settlement. Because he’s so tapped into the city he may be able to help you track Keener and his rogue agents.
=> Image
Campaign
=> The Map
SHD Agents are being sent to Lower Manhattan in response to a recent biological attack resulting in the death of numerous civilians and SHD Agents. Your job will be to hunt down Aaron Keener who orchestrated the attack and who we believe is planning to launch future attacks.
The mission requires you to be sent to New York and investigate reports of a new bio-weapon attack.
Considering the delicate scenario, once sent to New York, you won’t be able to return to Washington D.C. for the duration of the entire operation. However, once you’ve reached Level 40 and finished the main campaign missions, you’ll be free to switch between Washington D.C and New York as you want, enjoying the brand new endgame and seasonal post-launch activities.
Five main campaign missions
The renewed battle for New York unfolds across five main campaign missions (four of which can be tackled in any order), along with open-world activities and eight interconnected side missions that let Agents further interfere with Keener’s plans. Once you’ve finished those, you’ll have a new endgame to contend with, which affects not only New York but Washington, DC as well.
All is connected
Five distinct investigation threads, each linking the main and side missions together and leading you through the narrative.
- 5 Main Missions
- 8 Side Missions
- Main missions and side missions are now linked together.
- Improved Boss fight mechanics
- Unique Skill Mod rewards
Lower Manhattan
- Map Expansion: Lower Manhattan
- 4 Named Zones
- Fog of War – Explore the map to identify points of interest and activities.
- Wide range of Open World activities as well as new secrets and collectibles to find.
Four New Named Zones
Warlords of New York’s Lower Manhattan contains four new named zones to explore: the Financial District, Two Bridges, Battery Park, and Civic Center. These areas make up a massive former Dark Zone that encompasses places like Wall Street and Chinatown, all recently smashed by a summer hurricane into a treacherous, twisted landscape. The new zones are open only to Agents who’ve reached Level 30 and World Tier 5. Each zone levels up along with your Agent, letting you explore freely as you climb toward the new level cap of 40.
Enemy Scaling and Freedom of Choice
In The Division 2 Warlords of New York, enemy levels always scale to player level, regardless of the activity you choose. You’ll be able to explore the map and play any mission you want, whatever order you prefer since missions will be scaled according to your level, alongside the Open World. Choose your own path, agents!
Of course, it’s still possible to play missions with other agents since enemies will scale their power to the group members in the session.
Once you finish the new main campaign missions and reach the new level cap at 40, all world activities will scale at max level too, including those in Washington D.C.
Playing the main campaign missions will sure help to get to the maximum level and finish your objective. However, exploring New York has its own rewards! Not only will you encounter Control Points, Supply Drops, patrolling enemies and other activities, you can also pick up loot from the different containers spread around New York, new collectibles, puzzles and much more! All these activities scale with your level too and make New York truly your own playground!
Fog of War
Upon the arrival in New York, what Agents should expect is an unexplored territory where the entire world map is initially covered by Fog of War.
While the Fog of War is active, question marks will appear on the world map, and it is up to you to find what’s hidden in the area. GPS navigation won’t be available until the map is explored, but once you clear the Fog of War, all markers on the world map will be revealed.
Even in the dark of the Fog of War, you’ll be able to see clues that will help you through the hunt for your primary target: Aaron Keener. Agents, you’re the Light in the Dark.
Once again, New York needs The Division. One more time. Will you heed the call?
Factions of NYC
While the Rikers and Cleaners may be familiar names to the veterans of the first game, they are not quite the same factions as you might remember. In the months passed between the two games, the factions have re-organized themselves after the loss of their leaders, grown more battle-hardened and are now more tactically minded in combat. In addition to these, you will also find the occasional Last Man Battalion soldier together with the Black Tusk, as the remnants of the once-powerful mercenary group are now under Black Tusk command.
- Rikers – Escaped inmates from Rikers Island Prison.
- Cleaners – Former sanitation workers who believe the way to stop the virus is to burn it out.
- Peacekeepers – Civilian group made up of battle-hardened survivors and former JTF members.
Other Additions
Level 40
With TU8 / Warlords of New York, we get a new level cap – Level 40.
Your adventures in New York require an upgrade to your firepower, which is why in The Division 2 Warlords of New York, players will be able to increase their Level from 30 to 40 and are presented with our new end-game. Gear Score, a term our veteran players know, will no longer be the way to measure how powerful your agent will be once you venture into South Manhattan. You can check out the changes coming to the game with The Division 2 Warlords of New York expansion here.
Players who don’t own the expansion will continue to protect Washington D.C. in World Tier 5, at Level 30 and an increased 515 Gear Score. They won’t be able to join New York players or Level 40 agents in the Level 40 Washington D.C or New York activities, but will still share public spaces such as Settlements or the Base of Operation.
The Division 2 Warlords of New York owners who didn’t complete the main Washington D.C. campaign and World Tiers can, if they wish to do so, start from Level 30, World Tier 5 and transfer to New York, using the Level 30 Boost that comes with the purchase of the expansion.
Infinite SHD Level Progression system
In addition to the new cap, Warlords of New York introduces an infinite SHD Level Progression system that lets players continue earning perks points to keep improving their Agent indefinitely.
Four New Skills
You’ll also be able to unlock four new Skills, including a decoy, an incendiary sticky bomb launcher, a trip-wire trap, and an explosive sticky bomb launcher.
New Gear
Warlords of New York will also see a large number of new exotics, named items and gear be introduced to the game.
A New Cohesive End-game Experience
A major focus during the development of Warlords of New York was to create a compressive, cohesive end-game experience with clear goals after having reached Level 40. A number of features will come together to shape this new end-game experience, including Seasons, SHD Levels, Legendary difficulty and more.
SHD Levels
The new infinite progression system, replacing the Field Proficiency Cache system for all players having reached Level 40. SHD Levels allows you to invest points into one of four distinct Core Attribute categories upon reaching your next SHD Level, as well as a scavenging category granting you credits or crafting materials.
- The Core Attribute categories upgrades are finite. Once maxed out, the SHD level points can be spend into the fifth, scavenging category – yielding credits and crafting materials.

- In addition, your SHD levels visuals will become increasingly-impressive over time, signifying reached significant milestones to other agents.
Legendary Difficulty
The new Legendary difficulty will become available to Level 40 agents in select Strongholds, offering the most challenging PvE experience in The Division 2 outside of the raids. A new, elite sub-faction of the Black Tusk will be sure to keep you on your toes through a new legendary AI.
- Roosevelt Island
- Capitol Building
- District Union Arena
Global Difficulty
You will now have the ability to set the Global Difficulty of your game up to Heroic, affecting the difficulty of the Open World, including Control points and Bounties as well as missions. In addition, you will also be able to reset the map once it is fully cleared, allowing you to take it back once more.
Directives
Independently from Global Difficulty, directives allow you to activate gameplay modifiers on main missions, side missions, and open-world activities; increasing the overall difficulty and granting you additional XP. You will be able to activate up to 5 directives, scaling up the XP reward multiplier for each active directive. As seasonal XP is gained by all activities that yield XP, activating directives will also boost your seasonal XP gain.
Seasons
Overview
Seasons is a key aspect of the new end-game experience. Each 12 weeks long, a season will task you to hunt down manhunt targets and earn unique rewards in the process. Seasons will become available for all players when reaching Level 40, allowing you to earn a new skill mod and unique seasonal gear and cosmetics by progressing through the seasonal level system. While participating in Seasonal events will yield additional Season XP, all in-game activities will reward Seasonal XP, allowing you to progress through the seasonal track while engaging in the activities of your choosing. In addition, an optional purchase will be available in the in-game store, which increases the overall rewards gained per season. As a top-level overview, a season is a calendar of in-game activities that ensures that you will have new activities to participate in on a weekly basis. In a nutshell, these activities can be categorized into:
- Seasonal Manhunt Targets
- Reimagined Global Events
- Leagues
- Apparel Events
- Season Events
Introduction
After you have completed the vast new narrative experience in Warlords of New York and reached level 40, Seasons will be waiting for you with a whole new set of rewards, activities, and opportunities. In this article, we will provide an introductory run-down of how the first Season is going to work – starting with learnings from the previous year.
Leaving 2019 behind - what have we learned?
One of the most important takeaways from 2019 is that we want to be better at making the game feel rewarding to play and that players should meaningfully progress whenever they play, no matter the length or contents of their session. A strong narrative and living world must not interfere with players’ ability to steadily grow in power and be faced with nuanced gameplay opportunities.
The last few months of updates have brought some incremental changes to key systems in this favor, such as targeted loot, but Warlords of New York and the coming Seasons represent a much larger and more impactful set of improvements across the board.
Easier to navigate UI minimizing time spent in menus; a completely revamped RPG system with transparent roll numbers and a simple-but-deep set of stats/archetype allowing for much wider gameplay variety; updated recalibration and stat storing, providing more flexibility and quality of life when creating your builds and much more.
This all with a few key goals in mind: give players the ability to play The Division 2 the way they want, always progressing towards the goals they set for themselves and ultimately having more fun when playing.
In essence: we are working on across the board improvements to make the game feel and play better, smarter and smoother, to be more rewarding, predictable and nuanced.
A breakdown of Seasons
Once you finish the story of Warlords of New York and reach the new level 40 endgame, Seasons bring further progression opportunities and playstyles. Starting one week after the release of Warlords of New York and lasting 3 months, Seasons revolve around the manhunt, a multi-step journey hunting down Rogue agents; players can also look forward to reimagined Global Events, new gear, Leagues, and apparel – all with a unique thematic that not only applies to loot but also encounter design.
Seasonal Manhunt
Every Season pits players against a new target, aided by their local network. The Manhunt takes players across a large and varied set of locations in both New York as well as D.C. – unlocking step by step as targets become available throughout the Season. Finishing the Manhunt will grant a new unique skill mod used by the target players are tasked with taking down. Further down the line, we will communicate how players can attain the unique mods of previous Seasons.
Part of our effort to provide players with more meaningful and nuanced gameplay opportunities is to streamline the width of content added to The Division 2, with the goal of more focused and fun experience.
Narrative elements have been entwined with the Manhunt’s story, the gameplay of a particular Season and its Live service, rather than delivered as static story missions such as Classified Assignments. These types of story missions might make occasional appearances but will no longer be the main way we deliver new narrative content going forward.
Warlords of New York Seasons UI
Seasonal Activities
Throughout a Season there will be a multitude of different activities to provide players with varied and rewarding gameplay. Our fresh take on Global Events will have Agents facing completely new types of challenges never before seen in The Division; new gear sets added in a Season will be designed with the intention of keeping a living and interesting meta-game, and Leagues give players with a more competitive attitude a go-to area to check their standing.
We will share more information on Global Events and Leagues in the coming days and weeks.
Season Progression
Players progress through a Season by gaining Season Levels, each unlocking a reward in the Season Track. Season Levels were developed as a direct response to the previous years’ learnings and player feedback with the intent of making progression feel predictable, ensuring that no matter the mercy of the RNG Gods, you benefit from playing. To reach this goal we have designed the Season Track to feel directed, flavorful and meaningful featuring named weapons and gear. Additionally, Gear Caches will contain season-specific loot tables. The Track has been balanced so that impactful rewards are granted early, to ensure not only the most committed players get to enjoy these and avoiding putting pressure on those who play at a calmer pace.
A total of 100 levels can be attained over the 12 weeks of a Season; presently we estimate an average player will gain a level every 30 minutes to 1 hour of gameplay with no additional experience modifiers. These numbers are still in flux as internal (and external) testing happens up until the moment we launch – stay tuned for further details as we finetune this new progression system to make it feel truly rewarding. Those who wish to progress faster and perfect their leveling efficiency will be able to do so by completing seasonal activities or participating in XP multiplier events throughout a Season.
These numbers are subject to continuous reevaluation even after launching the Season. As we observe players engaging with Warlords of New York we will better understand nuances of how people want to play and keep looking for that sweet spot; again with the goal of ensuring gameplay is always rewarding, meaningful and allowing players to reach level 100 in their own preferred way.
Anyone who owns Warlords of New York will have access to all Seasonal content for free. Those who wish to gain additional rewards when gaining Season Levels can purchase a Season Pass unlocking an additional track of gear from that Seasons’ loot table, seasonal apparel, apparel keys, crafting materials and more. To keep the playing field fair, we made sure all gameplay affecting rewards on the additional reward track can be attained through normal playing. Gear available in the Premium track will be non-curated random rolls.
Warlords of New York Seasons - Rewards
What happens to player's that choose to stay in D.C?
Traveling back to New York to hunt down Aaron Keener and his posse of Rogue agents will start a whole new chapter of The Division 2 for many players – with a whole new endgame, infinite progression system, seasons and more becoming available at level 40.
For those who choose to stay in D.C. all Year 1 content will still be available, along with level 30 versions of Dark Hours (as well as Raid #2 once released) and the level 30 endgame. To minimize the division of playerbase, any level 40 player will be able to join level 30 activities with level scaling.
All players, regardless of the ownership of Warlords of New York, will continue receiving Quality of Life changes, in addition to core system improvements such as RPG 2.0 and improved UI/UX flows.
Apparel Events, Global Events and Seasons are exclusive to owners of Warlords of New York.

Und heute gab es auch noch ein SoTG:
WARLORDS OF NEW YORK (WoNY) EXPANSION
Seasons
- Addition of Seasons to give new structure to endgame thru narrative, objectives and activities. The seasons will last 3 months at a time. Players will earn XP by playing objectives and activities to unlock rewards.
- Seasons will be discussed in more detail in a future SOTG
SHD System to replace Field Proficiency Cache System.
=>[watch](insert)
- Your shade level will allow you to customize your characters by investing points into stats permanently with Core Attribute Categories.
- Offensive (WD, HSD, CHC, CHD)
- Defensive (Armor, Health, Explosive Resistance, Hazard Protection)
- Utility (Skill Damage, Skill Haste, Skill Duration, Skill Repair)
- Handling (Accuracy, Stability, Reload Speed, Ammo Capacity)
- Scavenging - Allows you to specifically target certain resources based on your need (certain crafting mats or currency for example).
Dificulties & Modifiers
- Legendary Difficulty
- To be added to the 3 original strongholds (Roosevelt, DUA, Capitol)
- Will scale with Group Size
- Will have same progression checkpoints as current Heroic missions.
- Black Tusk Faction (wearing white)
- New AI Mechanics (for example - BT Heavy no longer will have healer hive on back. Will now have a wasp type hive that will inflict more damage the closer it gets to the player)
- More incentive to play harder content. The harder the difficulty, there will be better chances of better gear dropping.
- Possibility of Leader Boards in the future. Not available at release.
- Directives
- Player selected difficulty modifiers to make missions or entire LZ more difficult with the promise of better rewards thru XP. (for example - adding modifier that stops healing out of combat modifier)
- Global Difficulty
- A degree of difficulty can be set over the entire world, and all of the NPCs, activities & missions will scale to the selected difficulty.
- Directives can be added to the Global Difficulty modifier to increase XP.
- Check Points - Once you gain control of a CP, you will maintain control until the Global Difficulty is changed.
The Dark Zone
There will be no new DZ in NYC. All changes being discussed are for the 3 DZs in D.C.
- No longer will the DZ be viewed as a place for everyone. It's a lawless land for players "ready to engage with other players". The multitude of activities in the LZ should satisfy the need for a PvE DZ, and players should not go into the DZ expecting to not engage with other players.
- VOIP will be open by default
- There will be an added "Social Menu" in the UI that will allow you to see the names of players nearby.
- Signature Weapons and Ammo will be removed from the DZ
- The player count will remain at 12, but they will continue to monitor
Misc.
- Raid Leader Boards will be reset when WoNY and TU8 is released. They will retain Legacy Leader Boards.
- 1000 Stash Count - Yesterday's stream used a dev. build and the Stash Inventory Count will not be increasing.
-

Summary
Hamish had a more in depth discussion about factions with Drew Rechner & Mackenzie Bates.
The old factions from New York have evolved in the 8 months since the Dollar Flu happened and have regrouped in Lower Manhattan. They have reformed, changed and adapted, just as our agents have. With new archetypes, toys and weak points, the factions are not a copy/paste of The Division 1 returning factions.
CLEANERS - A more battle hardened, tactical group with better toys.
- Improved AI with better tactical improvements, strategies and awareness than before.
- While they have the weak points, like the old cleaners, weak point logic has been updated and will tie to each ability.
- The heavies will have destructible armor systems that will allow for individual destruction of armor.
- Area Denial & Coverage Denial will be used by the Cleaners to promote alternate gameplay.
RIKERS - With the death of Larae Barrett, they have recruited and reformed behind the flag of the Rikers and have changed quite a bit.
- The faction is more about teamwork, gunplay and flanking.
- OG Rikers will add to the battle by providing "Inspriation" healing. All of the faction that is around them will have an extra green bar of health that will exist until that OG is taken down.
- There will be a more "grittier" feel to their weapons with proximity nail bombs and nail guns and shields.
- There will be a need to deal with the Rikers with more strategic planning and taking out certain elements to be successful.
LMB - Stragglers have now been absorbed by the Black Tusk and they now have new weaponry and skills.
- Grenadier Warhounds that launch a 3 grenade volley - Explosive for Normal and shock for Elites. With a weak point on their back.
- Minigun Warhounds that never stop moving - Avoid exposure and shoot the weak points in the legs to stop their attack.
- Support - Will deploy an overheal and you want to prioritize destroying it. But if it's not destroyed, it will provide armor kits.
LEGENDARY DIFFICULTY - Level 40 only
- May have apparel awards linked to completing Legendary Missions.
MISC.
- The Eagle Barer - The new version of the raid will drop Eagle Barer 2.0
- Roaming Hunters will be in both NY & DC.
- DZ will have Level 30 and Level 40 Brackets - Level 30 will scale to Level 40, but loot will not scale. Also the buffs that bring a Level 30 player to Level 40 will be slightly less than a player playing at Level 40.
- SHD Levels will be account wide, but you have to be Level 40 to contribute to those levels.
- Dark Hours Raid - Level 30 players will be able to play with a Level 40 player in the Raid.
- Still reasons to go back to DC after NY?
- Seasons (to be discussed on the next SOTG)
- Targeted Loot will be in either DC or NY.
- Priority Mission and Projects will still target DC & NY.
- No PTS for WoNY - Narrative driven campaign and they don't want spoilers.
- Improved AI with better tactical improvements, strategies and awareness than before.
-

Crafting Bench
With Gear 2.0, the crafting bench no longer produces GS 515 items. Because a GS 515 is a god-rolled and maxed out item, and those will not be handed out in the Crafting bench.
So when you craft something, it will be crafted in a range - and that applies for Warlords of New York Owner and not. When you upgrade it to the max, you basically just filter out the lowest rolls.
When you own Warlords of New York – the crafting bench will be reset to specialized and it will automatically level up with you to high-end.
Endgame
Once players have completed the campaign in New York they have a bunch of activities ahead of them.
- Putting together their Builds
- Populating the Recalibration Library with good rolls
- Project will also make a return in New York (Daily and Weekly Tasks)
- Bounties don’t cost Target Intel anymore, so you just do them when you want to.
- For Players that own Warlords, the Priority Target System has been replaced with Seasonal Manhunts (for players that don’t own the expansion, the Priority Target System is still there)
Getting Ready for Legendary
While you can do all those activities – in the end the goal is to be ready for Legendary Difficulty and the Raid.
The way loot drops now, once you hit level 40, you can ease into this challenge.
In terms of gear, Normal Difficulty sets you up for Hard. Hard prepares you for challenging, challenging for heroic and heroic for Legendary.
So you have this clear staircase of gear that you can climb to your goal. Plus Seasons that run at the same time will support you with that.
On top of that, you can also level up your SHD-Levels that help you unlock permanent upgrades to your character.
Reworked Loot System
With Gear 2.0 the old budget system was removed from the game and that allowed for god-rolls to come back. Even items that are completely maxed out on every stat.
That means, they can reward higher difficulty with better gear quality. But these higher rolls are not exclusive to specific difficulties. You can get god-rolls on normal difficulty, but you have better chances to get god-rolls on higher difficulty.
Also as mentioned before, the quantity of loot that you get, is tailored towards that system, so there will be fewer drops, but those will be interesting.
Endgame is one of the main pillars of Warlords of New York
Even though Warlords of New York is a story campaign, the endgame that followed was one of the main pillars when it was developed. So they really wanted a clear structure and path for you to follow once the level 40 endgame opens up.
Once the campaign is completed you can play in Washington D.C. and New York as a level 40 version. You can do the activities mentioned above, you can prepare for Legendary and have the Seasons on top of that to give it a structure.
Seasons
To access Seasons, you need to own Warlords of New York and be level 40. (when you have finished the New York Campaign)
Concept
The idea of a Season is a three month long mini-campaign. There will be a story that leads into that campaign and there is a reason why you are doing what you are doing. The story takes place directly after the Warlords of New York campaign. So the hunt will continue after you have completed the campaign.
Beyond that, the Seasons have a catalogue of activities that provide a new activity each week that is changing the way you play the game. They are keeping the game fresh by giving you new ways to play the game and new experiences.
Structure
Seasons are three month long and have a clear roadmap:
- Every three weeks a new Target unlocks in the Seasonal Manhunt.
- Leagues will be started
- Global Event can be completed
- Apparel Event provide new vanity items
- New Skill Variant when the Manhunt is completed (you will get access to that Skill Variant outside of the Season when it is completed)
All this runs on top of the regular endgame activities, so the Weekly Invasion is still present on top of all that.
Seasonal Manhunt
=> Manhunt
Each season basically revolves around a Seasonal Manhunt. The first one starts one week after the launch of Warlords of New York, so you have enough time to get to level 40.
Once the Seasonal Manhunt is activated, you will get a briefing and that kicks the Season off.
The Targets unlock one at a time every three weeks. Once a Target is active, they work together with hostile factions and take over a significant part of the map and suddenly you face factions in areas where they would usually not be.
As displayed on the left, you have to complete a set of activities with a new context now (different factions) and once you have completed those activities, you can locate and neutralize the Target. On the way there you get new information about the Target and what it has to do with the Prime Target.
Once you unlock and neutralize the Prime Target I the middle of this structure, you can unlock a new Skill Variant that will get added to your arsenal.
When you reset the map with the Global Difficulty, you can do the Manhunt activities again, but you will not lose the progression that you have made. So when you have neutralized a Target, it will stay completed, even when you reset the map.
Season Menu
=> Access
Seasons will take over your progression menu, where you can see what is going on and what you should do.
When you access that menu you get an overview of what is going on, what the next reward is and what event is currently active.
=> Overview
Season Reward Progression
=> Reward Track
As you rank up your Season Level (every activity you do rewards XP to your Season Level) you move along that reward track and you unlock rewards with every level you rank up.
The upper track is the Standard Reward Track and the lower is the Premium Reward Track.
The first 35 Season Levels provide back to back new Gear Set Items, new Brands, new Named Weapons and a new Exotic. Those rewards will be accessible to everybody that owns Warlords of New York.
You can follow your Season XP below your regular XP Bar – it is displayed as this green progression.
100 Season levels
Overall there are 100 Season Levels that you can level up and unlock rewards along the way. You can compare these level-ups in the same intervals as the current Field Proficiency unlocks. Depending on how many additional modifiers you put on top (Directives provide additional XP) you should be able to complete a Season within 50 – 100 hours of gameplay.
Access to Seasons
Every Player that owns Warlords of New York gets access to the whole Seasons package and the Seasons that follow.
The only thing you CAN pay for is the mentioned Premium Reward Track that gives additional rewards as you level up. You get more items, more rewards and also unique Apparel Items and Skins. All game-changing equipment is based on RNG like everything else. So there is no pay-to-win situation. The only thing that is truly exclusive, is the Apparel Items and Skins that don’t impact gameplay.
The first Season will be completely free, so everybody has access to the Premium Track – after that, you will need to pay 10 Euros / Dollars to get the Premium Track.
New Gear Sets
=> Reward Track
As you progress through the Season you get a full set of Striker and a full set of System Corruption. Striker is of course one of the first Gear Sets that was introduced in The Division 1, while System Corruption is a new and more PVP focused one.
You can get these Gear Sets from the Season Reward Track and from Season Caches that you earn by doing seasonal activities.
Striker is also available where Gear Sets drop – Targeted Loot and Vendors and so on – System Corruption only drops in the Dark Zone outside of the Season.
There is also a Striker Outfit that can be unlocked on the Premium Track.
Global Events
=> Global Event
Global Events are part of the Season activities and become active over the course of the three months. They are opt-in, so you actively choose to participate in the Global Event.
Global Events will also return in Season down the road, so you will have multiple attempts to complete them.
Global Event run for one week during a Season.
Polarity Switch
The provided example was Polarity Switch. During this Global Event, the player is negative or positive charged and until he reloads or changes weapons he keeps that charge. The same applies to enemies. The catch is, you barely can damage enemies that have a different polarity than you. So it is a juggling act of attacking the right enemy with the right polarity. (you can also change the polarity of the enemy by melee attacks)
You will also earn up to five stacks of damage buff when you are shooting the right enemies with the right polarity. On the other hand, when you are doing it wrong, and shoot the wrong polarity, you will get a shock after one warning shot. Keep in mind, when you have the “Ammo Hoarders” directive active, you will lose the remaining bullets in the magazine, so that can get complicated very fast.
In essence, if you are yellow, shoot yellow marked enemies, if you are blue, shoot blue marked enemies.
=> Enemies
Challenges
=> Challenges
Each Global Event comes with Challenges that give you specific task what you should do. Each of these challenges has a star assigned to it and these stars count towards the Global Event rewards.
New Challenges will unlock each day of a Global Event. Keep in mind, that they will stay available once they are unlocked and you don’t have to complete them immediately. Once they are unlocked, you can complete them until the end of the Global Event.
Keep an eye on those challenges, because they will teach you the less obvious mechanics of a Global Event. Also when you start completing them early on, it will be less of a grind as when you start late.
Each time you complete one of these challenges, you get a big chunk of XP that counts towards the Season Level and your SHD Level.
Global Event Rewards
=> Rewards 1
=> Rewards 2
Each Global Event has 10 Rewards. When you turn it on once, you get the Participation Patch. As you complete the Challenges, you will unlock these Caches and get crafting materials, items, Exotic items and a Backpack Trophy at the end.
Leagues
=> Leagues While Global Events focus more on strange modifiers and new ways to play the game – the Leagues have a different focus. They run for two weeks and are skill challenges for players.
As shown in the Screenshot, Leagues give you tasks to complete: The first League has time trials on it and you are challenged to complete these Missions or Strongholds as fast as you can on the specified difficulty.
Here you see how these tasks are structured. You have 10 Stages that you can complete that range from 15 Killed Elites to 250. On the Leaderboards you can see how you did in comparison to others and so on.
The Leaderboards will reset each week, but you will keep your progression.
Rewards
=> Rewards 1
=> Rewards 2
Each League has a unique patch, but this is not a participation patch you need to complete some of the milestones. The Rewards get unlocked by completing milestones in the League. It also provides Exotic Caches and a Backpack Trophy at the end.
Apparel Events
As shown on the roadmap, Apparel Events are also part of the Season. They last for three weeks plus one week closing period. It has the same mechanics as the previous Apparel Events – earn XP, earn Apparel Event Keys and open Apparel Event Caches to get the exclusive apparel items of that event. The UI also displays you when the next Apparel Key will be rewarded.
The Apparel Event will also be part of the Season Menu like the others.
Rewards are also in the General Loot Pool
But all these activities are optional – you don’t have to do any of them. When a Season starts, all the items on the Reward Track also get added to the General Loot Pool. So when you are after the Striker Gear Set, you can also farm it in the regular open world and you are not locked out from these rewards.
For example, when you see a Named Item way later in the Season Progression, you can go to Targeted Loot and try to get it from there.
Buy Season Levels
When you have a full schedule or when you have joined the Season late, in the last couple of week you will be able to buy the Season levels with Premium Currency. This way you get access to the items on the reward track but, of course, without any impact on your SHD Levels.

PC: A fresh install digitally or from the base game disc will prompt a 59.83 GB download to install Title Update 8.1. Players who have the latest Title Update 7 patch already installed can expect a 42 GB download to be ready for Warlords of New York.
We want all players across all platforms and across the world, to access Warlords of New York as soon as possible on March 3rd Midnight local time. To allow this, we decided to perform our maintenance on Monday taking into account time zone constraints.Due to technical constraints, accessing content on PC is tied to the end of the maintenance while it is tied to local times for other platforms, explaining the time difference.
Das ist dann 00:00 Uhr von Montag auf Dienstag.Fehler, es ist 12 Uhr Mittag am Montag, habe 11PM umgerechnet und nicht AM.
